Seeds and Tools Workshop in Waterloo

The Seeds and Tools farming project is one of our longest established schemes in Waterloo, Sierra Leone.

Recently our partners asked us to fund a two day training event (the first of its kind) to help the women increase the quality and quantity of their crops and boost their income. About 100 farmers took part in two days of interactive workshops and demonstrations, led by experienced agricultural instructors from the local council (see picture).

The workshop was very successful, and already the women have started to use improved methods of cultivation and irrigation. We and our partners in Sierra Leone are planning to hold a similar workshop next year.
