Ebola – Emergency Appeal
You will have seen on the news and in the press about the terrible situation in Sierra Leone caused by the spread of the Ebola virus. The impact in the community in Waterloo is particularly worrying. Public gatherings have been banned, schools closed and road blocks are making movements restrictive. The effects on the local economy are being harshly felt and the prices of basic commodities are increasing on a daily basis.
We have been working with our partners in Sierra Leone to determine how best we can assist them in their desperate plight. We are planning to send funds which will be used to buy sanitation buckets, chlorine, gloves, face masks etc The Chair of the partnership is also going to organise training and sensitisation events to ensure that the local community take preventative measures to protect themselves.
