Badara
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alieu Mansaray, Chair of the Waterloo Partnership Sierra Leone.
His nickname was Badara meaning great man. He certainly was. I met him 21 years ago in war torn Sierra Leone. He was diligent and so articulate. He wanted the best for his people. We shared a love of Liverpool Football Club and he wore his shirt with pride. I was proud to know him and be his friend and colleague.
All members of the Waterloo Partnership are heartbroken by this loss. Alieu was a remarkable man who served his community with love and dedication for many decades. His contribution to the Waterloo Partnership was profound and will not be forgotten. He oversaw so many projects – well building, education, food packages during the Ebola crisis, seeds and tools for the women farmers and bridge building.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the wider Waterloo community at this sad time.
May Allah welcome him into paradise.
