Animata Mansaray RIP
Just when you think your heart can not break anymore, there is further sad news from Sierra Leone. FirstĀ we lost Alieu Mansaray – the great man who led the Waterloo Partnership for 21 years. ThenĀ his lovely wife Animata had a heart attack and has died.
Her 21 year commitment to the Waterloo Partnership was impressive. She cared for the street orphans and helped them to gain an education. Three of them went on to get nursing degrees and now work in the community. She was such a kind and compassionate person. She lost her only child in the war and then worked tirelessly for the many orphans of Waterloo.
I remember when she visited Crosby she taught the children the hymn fishers of men. She had a lovely voice.
Aminata is now reunited with her beloved Alieu. May they both rest in peace. The Waterloo Partnership is heartbroken.
