| The seeds project | |
|
Seeds have been bought for Waterloo farmers through the Christmas Gift Scheme. It was wonderful to witness a farmer being rewarded for her hard work with more seeds when we were visiting in February 2008. The locals have begun to to compare and contrast traditional farming methods with more modern ones as well as trialling new strains of cassava. We are hoping that they will see what a difference this should make for them. |

| Imagine having to climb down to this well dozens of times a day and with a leaking watering can! That is what this poor woman, and countless other like her had to do and still do as many more pumps, which can easily be maintained are still needed. | She was delighted to receive a new watering can from WPUK to replace her old patched one! |

| This young woman's husband was killed in an explosion whilst working in Freetown in 2008. She is now supporting her mother-in-law and four children and is one of the beneficiaries of seeds and tools. | These two young boys are self-funding themselves through school by working on their plot of land in the Gbatama swamp before and after school each day. |
